The keyboard is working fine. However, the mouse is not working properly, The cursor will pause on the screen and I wait for about five seconds before it works again. I've tried this on another computer and I have the same problem. The mouse just seems to freeze. Any suggestions?

Hi @dnbj,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your wireless mouse!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check the Batteries
- Replace the batteries in the mouse. Use new alkaline batteries.
- Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to the polarity markings.
Resynchronize the Mouse to the Receiver
Plug the receiver into a USB port on the computer. If you have a choice, use a USB port on the front of the computer.
Push the Connect button on the receiver (which is also the LED light) and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds until the blue light starts to flash.
Check that the mouse is turned on, and push and hold the Connect button on the underside of the mouse until the blue LED on the receiver stops flashing.
Check Connection and Range
- Ensure the mouse is within the range of the receiver.
- If the mouse is not in suspend mode, click the left mouse button to reactivate it. Suspend mode occurs after 20 minutes of inactivity.
Clean the Mouse Sensor
- For an optical mouse, gently wipe the light sensor lens on the bottom of the mouse with a lint-free cloth.
Test Other Surfaces
- If you are using an optical mouse, try using a different surface or a mouse pad. Avoid reflective or glossy surfaces as they may interfere with tracking.
Restart Computer
- If the mouse is still not detected or responding, restart your computer.
Check for Interference
- Ensure that other wireless devices or electronic devices are not causing interference.
Update Driver Software
- Ensure the mouse drivers are up to date. You can visit the HP website to download the latest drivers for your mouse model.
I hope this helps.
