NonSequitur777 hope you're around, to use the adapter like you used in elite desk computer, do I connect one cable from the adapter plug to any sata connector on the motherboard or does it need to be in the connector 8 pin sata power, I have an hp pavilion 590 series with 180 wts psu, and the motherboard is a sunflower

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Indeed, I am around, and ready to assist you.
Btw, here is another power supply option for you to consider: there is a 400-watt power supply upgrade for your desktop with p/n: L04618-800 which is equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable, and there is a 500-watt PSU upgrade, with p/n: L05757-800, which is equipped with one 6-pin and one 6+2-pin PCIe power cables.
However, as I indeed showed with my HP EliteDesk 800 G3/G4/G5 SFF upgrade projects, you can leave the original stock power supply in place, connect an ATX power supply sync connector to one of your desktop's 15-pin SATA power cable, plug in your externally placed ATX power supply's 24-pin power cable to the aforementioned ATX power supply sync connector, and use the ATX power supply's 8-pin PCIe power cable(s) to power any graphics card you can afford.
If you don't have an available 15-pin SATA power cable available in your desktop, simply use a 15-pin SATA splitter cable. All what this cable does is to provide a signal to sync (turn on/off) a secondary power supply:
There are many places to buy one of these ATX power supply sync connectors, such as this purchase option via Amazon-United Kingdom: MZHOU Synchronous Power Board Double Power Supply Adapter with Multiple Power Supplies, Add2psu with....
Hope this was helpful.

I have lying around a 250 wts PSU that doesn't have 6 or 8 pin connectors for graphics cards, so think I would need this? I can't afford the PSUs that you mentioned, childcare and all

Just want to pair a Ryzen 3 2200g , I know it's old, with a gtx 1650 or 1660, is it feasible?

All right, let me see if I understand what you are trying to do. Your desktop has a 180-watt power supply, which is insufficient to power either a GTX 1650 or certainly a GTX 1660.
There are two options:
1.) buy the 400-watt PSU as referenced in my first post, say via an eBay Seller. They aren't cheap, but this solution is most elegant: the upgraded power supply fits in your desktop, and you can power various decent graphics cards such as an RTX 3050, GTX 1660 Super, or a GTX 1660 Ti.
2.) Connect an externally placed ATX power supply to an ATX power supply sync adapter as discussed, which in turn is connected to a 15-pin SATA power cable from your desktop. BTW: This solution only works with graphics cards which requires a 6-pin or 8-pin PCIE power cable, it will not work for a graphics card such as a GTX 1650 which doesn't have a PCIe power cable requirement. For a GTX 1660 (which requires an 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model), feed an 8-pin PCIe power cable from the ATX power supply inside your desktop to power your card. And by the way, you can purchase an affordable ATX power supply around 32 quid, such as this purchase example via Amazon-UK.
I have no idea what you think the first set of cables can do for you.
And you should avoid using 15-pin SATA to 6-pin or 8-pin PCIe power adapter cables. A SATA 15-pin power cable can supply 54 watts, whereas a 6-pin PCIe power cable is supposed to provide up to 75 watts of power, and an 8-pin PCIe power cables is supposed to deliver up to 150 watts.

Can't afford such powerful graphic cards and also I'm considering that I can get a good balance between the Ryzen 3 2200g and the dedicated graphic card, minimal bottleneck and such, might go via getting a new power supply that I will come the 6 or 8 pin connectors for the graphics cards, checked the prices for those PSUs from hp, way to expensive but I guess I still need this adapter to connect 15 pin sata connector to the 8 pin sata power in the motherboard

I don't understand your statement, quote: "I still need this adapter to connect 15 pin sata connector to the 8 pin sata power in the motherboard".
Once again, the only two options to make either a GTX 1650 or a GTX 1660 work in your desktop is using one of the power methods I already outlined.

That's the sunflower motherboard as you can see , the 180 PSU has a cable connecting to the 8 pin sata power, I'm considering going to 1660 super or a 2060 which they need the a dedicated power supply, so I'm wondering if the cable that I showed would be alright?
By the way , you're a star for being that patient and available

No, the "COMeap CPU 8 Pin to 3x 15 Pin SATA Hard Drive Power Adapter Cable for Cougar Thermaltake Game Demon Semi Modular PSUs 20-in(50cm)" wouldn't work. As the description says, quote: "[Note] This cable was only designed for some types of Cougar Thermaltake Game Demon semi modular PSUs listed in the 1st point, not compatible with other brand PSUs or types." (emphasis added).

Got it, I will try harder to find a good deal on those PSUs that you mentioned, that's my only alternative!
Massive thank you for your help and advice!
PS: will continue to play with my playstation 4 for more "demanding games" and play the football managers in the pc, still happy with it, just want to give the pc a little bit more humph!!
