Hi @2653,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your HP pendrives. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the problems:

Slow Data Transfer

USB Port Version: Ensure that you are inserting the pendrive into a USB 3.0 port if the drive is designed for USB 3.0, as using a USB 2.0 port can slow down transfer speeds significantly.

Check for Corruption: Use a computer to check the pendrive for errors:

  • Connect the pendrive to a computer.
  • Open 'This PC' or 'My Computer'.
  • Right-click on the drive and choose 'Properties'.
  • Go to the 'Tools' tab and use the 'Check' button in the 'Error Checking' section.

Format the Drive: If there are no important files on the drive, consider formatting it:

  • Right-click on the pendrive in 'This PC' or 'My Computer' and select 'Format...'.
  • Choose a suitable file system (exFAT is common for large pendrives).

USB Recognized as "Connected for Charging"

Disconnect and Reconnect: Ensure you properly disconnect and reconnect the pendrive to the phone. Some phones require USB OTG (On The Go) support to connect with USB drives.

Settings: On your phone, check the USB settings if it allows you to switch modes from 'Charging' to 'File Transfer'.

Try a Different Cable or Adapter: Sometimes the issue can be with the USB OTG cable or adapter you are using; try a different one if possible.

Check Compatibility: Ensure your phone supports OTG functionality. You might need to enable this feature in your phone’s settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
