How can I use the monitor on a 27-160xt All in One device as an external monitor for a laptop?

Its specs

No, it does not have input port nor HDMI in port to work as a monitor.

Regards.

Yes, this can be done.  You need to buy one of those wireless display adapters.   The microsoft one is promoted in the link below.  I have used it and it  "works".  Apple also has one for Apple TV but I don't know if it works like below.  I actually  bought one before I realized I had to subscribe monthly to Apple TV and it has been in a parts drawer ever since.

[EDIT]  I just re-read my post and realized I might be able to get my MacBook to have a second monitor the same way as the PC.  I suspect I will have to ask over at Apple if their TV gadget can work like the microsoft one.

Thanks for your contribution BUT your solution is for ADDING one more monitor which is not an answer for the original question

Hope this makes sense.

Regards,

I did not read the article carefully.  There is no need to use that Microsoft gadget nor any EzCast device.  However, I believe the "Walk through" in the url does solve the problem of using the other system and extending the desktop.  It took me a while but I managed to get a laptop and a desktop to extend their displays just using Wi-Fi.  No cable is needed, just Wi-Fi

On my Area51 Desktop => Enabled the optional feature "wireless adapter"

Did the same thing for an old Acer Laptop

On the Acer Laptop selected settings => system => project to this PC

On the Area51 select WinStart+P => extend desktop => connect to wireless display

The Laptop was added as a 3rd screen as shown.  JT981 would reverse what I did, extending the laptop the other system.  Should work.  My Area51 has Wi-Fi in addition to hard wired ethernet. JT981 might need to buy a WiFi adapter for the desktop if it does not have one.  Possibly being hardwired and on the same subnet might mean the desktop does not need Wi-Fi but that is a guess.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I can not seem to get them to work.  I can get a Bluetooth connection, but that is only audio.  It sucks having a wonderful 27 inch touchscreen monitor that cannot be used as a secondary monitor for a laptop.  Oh well...
