2nd ram slot not working. ( still under the care warranty)  I opened my laptop and added a new RAM 8gb Kingstone but 2nd slot not working. However, on the CPU-z it detects my 2nd RAM slot and my memory is 16 GB. Does my bios hinder my 2nd ram slot?

Generally, for best upgrade results, memory upgrades must be done with pairs of identical; guaranteed compatible memory modules.

Adding another soDIMM of a different brand with different capacity and specifications (memory timings and voltage requirements) can easily have the result that you are experiencing.

The BIOS ROM firmware file does see there is an issue and that is why the additional module is not working, even though it is seen as being present.
