I have desktop elite 8300 ,When I press the power  button, a red light appears with 4 short beeps, so I want to solve this problem!

Depending on the age of the PC and the BIOS vendor...
The 4th, 5th and 6th characters of the Serial Number give the age when it went thru the factory...

I think @Lil_Boy_Blue  perhaps was responding to a different posting.

Here is the manual for the HP Compaq Elite 8300 All-in-One Desktop PC

On page 185, Table 10-2 is the response for the 4 peeps and the LED flashing 4 times

In the right hand column is the recommended course of action.  Step 2 indicates to remove or disconnect all connected devices to see if one of them is causing this problem.
