hi I am trying to upgrade my hard drive to ssd bought the Samsung 860 Evo and housing adapter  after installing my computer would not start up  but does the 5 beeps and flashing amber light please help  my old HD crashed and I really need a computer for my daughter to distance learn. I am no technical  person but I can follow directions very well

Totally desperate......

Hi,

 

A five beep POST error code for a circa 2013 PC can be reviewed at this HP Support site (Link). Look at Computers released before 2015.

 

This error code indicates a RAM problem. Troubleshooting steps include reseating the RAM or you have a system board problem if reseating the RAM fails

 

I would also try each stick of factory memory in each memory slot to see if the system will POST.

 

This error should not be related to installing a Samsung 860 EVO drive in your PC.

 

Stuff happens; maybe you dislodged a memory module or some other type of hardware failure occurred when you replaced the HDD with a SATA SSD.
