"I want to ask if I have to connect the fan to the port in the motherboard by untapping it from the PSU wire."
Would you mind rephrasing that? I do not quite understand what you are asking.
What I suggest is using a four pin molex connector adapter to connect the fan to a four pin power connector on a cable from the PSU, if it is available. That will give you power to a fan as long as the PC is powered on.

See, when my fan was not working, I got a multimeter and tested how much power is there in the cable that powers the hard disk. It was 12V, the same which I needed to run the fan. So, I just put some small cuts in that cable and connected it to the fan. Now, when I turn on the computer, the fan takes its 12V power from there and runs perfectly. Well, the thing is that it is now showing an error message saying "512 - Rear Chassis Fan Not Detected" and I have to click F1 every time to turn the computer on. So, I asked how to remove that error message in which you told me to roll back the Smbus drivers. Now, I am asking that to remove that error message do I have to try to plug in the fan in the fan port which is present in the Motherboard by removing the fan from the hard disk wire, or do something else? Because right now the error message persists.
Also, I am not In a position to spend any money to buy anything

I thought you had already tried plugging the fan connector into the motherboard header without success.
If you haven't, disconnect the "tap" you made and try it.
