580-137c

Hello,

I am trying to update the cooler on  580-137c(Ryzen 1700), I first thought it should be an AM4 mount, but it seems not fit.

I wonder what type of mounting mechanism is on this motherboard.

Thank you!

Hi

Ryzen does use the AM4 socket.

You either have the Intel version of this mainboard, or HP has modified the AMD version of this motherboard.

Either chipset is available on the Pavilion 580-137c. Click on Product information. You will see two different versions of the Basswood motherboard.

Thank you very much, Tom!!!

I see, my motherboard looks like the Intel version of Basswood you linked.

What keyword(s) I need to follow to find a mounting system compatible with this motherboard?

Thanks,

Hi kiddole

You are welcome.

Do a search for Intel socket 775 heatsink/ fan.

A stock Intel system should mount fine. Check dimensions of heatsink/fan system if you decide to use a different manufacturer. You need to look at the clearance around the processor socket and the height of the fan.

Hi kiddole

Double and triple check your motherboard version (Intel vs AMD).

I received information (please click on this link for details) that indicates the HP specs showing an Intel socket 775 MB as an option for your PC may be incorrect.

Don't want to see you spend money on a 775 heatsink/fan if it is not compatible.
