HP Pavilion Elite HPE-341f Desktop PC

Hi, I am looking for some help. I have an HP - Compaq Pavilion Elite HPE-341f SSD Upgrades | Scan ID: 1E880D6531D926C3 I was told I could upgrade it instead of buying a new one. My pc works well so I upgraded, I purchased an SSD 5TB, along with 16 GB RAM. I did not know that my pc was using MBR so I can only use 2TB with 3 TB as an unallocated partition, which can't be changed. From what I gather, it needs to be changed to GPT. So when I go to change it to GPT it tells me I need to enable UEFI. Do I need to do a reinstall to enable UEFI?

Hi:

Does your PC even support UEFI?

It seems too old to me looking at the parts list.

HP PartSurfer

When you go to the boot options menu, do you see two sets of bootable devices -- legacy and UEFI/EFI?

If not, then you will have to use the drive as it is.

Without a UEFI BIOS you cannot boot from a GPT-formatted drive.

You're very welcome.

All I know is that if you don't see two lists of bootable devices, the PC does not support UEFI.

Look at the Boot Order picture (7th picture).

That is what the boot options menu looks like in a PC that has a UEFI BIOS.
