so I have a P6-2427C and I've upgraded to a 700W power supply.  I also have a ATI HD 5830 (1gb) and when I install it it beeps 6 times when I remove it the system posts.  I have gone into the bios and disabled secure boot and turned on legacy and its still giving me 6 beeps.  Anything else I can try?

I tested the video card in another system with the same 700w power supply and it boots up just fine.

Regards,

Doug

Hi TACOxLEGENDARY,

I understand that you are getting 6 long BIOS beeps after you installed a video card. To be able to assist you further with the issue. Could you please tell me the model number of your computer. The document 'How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number' for notebooks.'How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number' for desktops. As well what is the model number of the new video card that you have installed?

Thank you.

I discovered another reason for the six beeps at startup on my 2 day old Phoenix 810-150se. I have a KVM switch connected to a shared monitor, mouse and keyboard. This KVM switch takes a bit of time to initialize at power-on, so the PC does not see the USB connections right away. Apparently the beeps can mean "no keyboard detected".When it does see the USB keyboard the beeping stops and the PC starts up normally. I confirmed this by disconnectsing the KVM switch and connecting the supplied keyboard and mouse--the beeping disappeared.

Could anyone help me, I have the same problem.

I have an HPE h8-1211 and I'm trying to install a GTX660 and get the 6 beeps.

I couldn't find the legacy or the secure boot option in the bios.

Thanks

Hi,

I understand that you are getting beeps when you installed the new graphics card, and you do not have the options for legacy boot. At this point, I would suggest installing the old graphics card. This way you should be able to get into the BIOS, select legacy and save. Then shut down the computer, install the new graphic card and boot up the computer.

Please let me know if this fixes the beeping, thank you.
