Had to change powersupply and spent like two days to just figure out the broken power button. It was shutting off after random times, just found the issue when tried connecting the power-on pins . Not sure where can i buy the power push button or entire assembly of that module.

BTW not very impressed with HP quality of such a simple mechanical device

@winnipeger28,

Changing a power supply does not involve the front panel header. This header has a plug, and the wires from it go to the power switch. From your statement, you pulled the wiring off the plug, or damaged the plug, as you spoke of trying to connect power-on pins.  Is this the module that is broken.  Be careful to examine the picture.   If you remove the old switch assembly, you will find a part number on the cabling, just like the example. Just how did you break the switch?  It was never meant to be removed during a PSU exchange.

Not meaning to be harsh, especially at this time of year, but your accusing the product.

Well, i did not broke anything.....just never throught that power button on a desktop from a reputed vendor might never be bad....just was trying to elliminate the possibilities... changed the power supply first, as that was the one possible culprit....no luck, tried changing ram/video card (borrowed from a  freind).it was still shuuting off as and when it wanted...last thing i tried was to remove the power/led jumper, did google search ..found the right pins...shorted them to power pc on and it stayed on and well for next 24 hours...

cut/removed the cables from that **bleep** pushbutton switch, and now they are hanging in air, will try to buy some push button switch from some local pc shop..
