Product: envy
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have to replace a dvd as a result of the "sheik" but impractical design on the Envy case.  I found a thread that gets me to the parts list but there are 6 possible PN's.  Since I have to replace it I might as well upgrade it but there are only PN's not specs.  Where can I find the spec for the dvd's?

Hi,

 

The specifications for the DVD optical drive are listed here.

 

There should be a HP part number sticker on the existing DVD optical drive.

 

There are six different DVD optical drives as the models and manufacturers are different. BDXL would be for Blu-Ray.

Thank you.  I had the parts list I wanted to compare the different drives.  Just curious what is "DVD - GNRC, ODD DVDSM 9.5 Slim Tray RAZR"? I could not find any infor on it.

Dave, 

any idea where to purchase the 849057-6C0 DVD - BD-Writer, Bezeless, BDXL, M-Disc HLD?

 

I tried all the typical places, Amazon, Fry's, Newegg, Impact etc... but no joy

I purchased through HP. Ouch!!! $95.00 total, includes governor moon beam's cut. $77.00 for the unit. Part number has been updated? It is 762433800 an crosses to 849055-HC1 MODEL DU-8AESH-EEC at least according to the support staff.
