I have a 2018 HP OMEN desktop that has 8gb of RAM on 82f1 mobo. I purchased 2x8gb of DDR4 2400 ram to upgrade. I cleared the CMOS by removing the battery and inserted the 2 new ram, but only 8gb is recognized. XMM1 shows 8192mb but XMM3 not installed. The BIOS screen won’t let me change the memory settings, only accept the defaults.
Odense2-K motherboard
What could be the problem? Bad mobo, bad XMM3, update bios, ???
TIA

You should not have cleared the BIOS from something as straightforward as a memory upgrade.
The desktop BIOS would have performed memory training without that.
Did you purchase an indentical pair of guaranteed compatible memory from a mainstream memory maker?
