I bought this used HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop tg01-2000i Product number 58Q98EA, in perfect conditions. The huge downside of this is that it came without the SATA power cable, which I unfortunately realized too late, when I wanted to upgrade it adding an SSD I bought on purpose (this PC has a built-in drive caddy so this upgrade is expected by the manufacturer itself).
I am based in Italy.
This is the motherboard I have, an HP Stark chipset Intel h570 (here are the chipset details by Intel)
Therefore, I bought two different SATA power cables that I thought would fit in:
The CBL-PWEX-0982 and this QIANRENON sata power 4pin cable.
i thought the first would fit in the white rectangular 4 pin male slot and the second would fit in the black squared 4 pin jack connector next to the first one, in case the first one didn't work.
Well, none of them worked.
You can see here which those connectors are at the top left corner of the photo (please, ignore the connected red sata data cable, it's just sitting there, unplugged on the other end):
Hence I tried using the HP Part Surfer with the serial number of the PC itself, but in the outputted table there was unfortunately no reference to power cable, and using the product name genereted an even worse result, showing only one line of unrelevant information.
Therefore, I began searching this forum, and among other seemingly related threads, the more informative where these two:
Thread 1 HP Forum - "Help me find this sata cable!" ;
Thread 2 HP Forum - "Power to extra Sata HHD?"
While the first mentioned the `||| L68308-001 || Cable - Pwr (2*2) to SATA (15p) ST,200+80mm, BL, Ro2 |||` leading me to a really pricey list of options during some E-Bay researches (1, 2, 3) , the second one was more uplifting, mentioning the 507148-001 cable which I found out to be inexpensive to me having considered the shipping costs.
Basically, the questions now are the following ones, the first two being the most important and relevant.
1. Can i use sata power cables from other HP desktop models that bring the same squared black jack slot or could they differ from the one I need? I found these 507148-001 cables, wich I think all come from HP PRO Elite 8000 or 6000 PCs : https://sparepartsmarket.it/accessori/hp-611895-001-6200-pro-8000-elite-4-pin-to-3x-sata-motherboard... ; https://sparepartsmarket.it/accessori/cavo-alimentazione-hp-elite-8000-pro-sff-4-pin-a-3-sata-577494... ; https://www.ebay.it/itm/185440533236 ; https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Brand-4-pin-power-507148-001/dp/B01NASCZL5
2. Am I instead bound to buy the really expensive option, i.e. L68308-001 ?
3. If the only real SATA power supply port is that black squared slot, what is the purpose of the white one?
4. Should one need to, how to leverage the other `SATA pwr` empty slots? Would that imply soldering connectors (which I would highly discourage on a functioning system like this one)?
Thank you very much in advance to anyone willing to share some info!

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
1.) The HP p/n: 507148-001 should be cross-compatible with your Stark motherboard black 4-pin power connector and work.
2.) No.
3.) The purpose of the two white 4-pin and one 7-pin motherboard slots is for plugging in the power supply's power connections:
4.) Not sure what you mean: you don't need to use any open SATA pwr slot(s) if you don't need them, you can leave them as-is.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards.

@NonSequitur777
Thank you for your time and particularly for the confirmation about thale cable which is the most important part of the the issue, maybe even the only one basically. I'll buy the cable and if that works I'll accept your answer as solution. Thank you again!
PS: About my question number 3 regarding the purpose of the white 4 pin male slot, I was apparently unclear, since you marked every other white connector on the motherbord besides the one I was referring to, which is this, to the left of the black square 4 pin jack connector we discussed for the cable compatibility issue, circled in yellow:
It seems to be another type of power supply connector for SATA power cables, also given that "SATA-pwr1" label on its left. I think I found a SATA power cable that would fit it, but I am not sure: HP M01 l71951-001 on E-bay.
Question 4 was actually somewhat related to the third, and concerned the two sata power empty slots (which are only copper-balled, no connector installed, like "naked") you can see to the right of the picture above, named "SATA-pwr0" and "SATA-pwr2", here highlighted with a red mark:
It seems weird to me for a motherboard to have "unfinished" parts like these, but I may be wrong. Am I?

Thank you for clarifying things. The other white slot is inconsequential, and I wouldn't worry about it.
The unfinished motherboard SATA power connections you are referring to are either obsolete parts of a previous model motherboard or are pre-cast to accommodate a later version motherboard. Nothing to worry about and irrelevant to your needs.
Kind Regards,

Yes, thank you again.
That white connector is inconsequential but there should be a purpose for it to be.
In fact, the last two question were posed only out of curiosity, yet they may be helpful to someone stumbiling upon this.
Very kind of you to dedicate time on all this! I'll remember to mark the first answer as solution if the cable for the jack connector works. Otherwise, I'll update on the situation with a new reply.

And... nope. The alternative SATA power cable does indeed plug in the 4 pin jack connector, but if it is in turn connected to an SSD drive the tg01 just does not turn on.
Hence, based on my current experience, the cable has to be the original one.
I fear this is just the sorry state of affairs of proprietary (non-standard) hardware.
I'll leave this as an open thread for now, as I am going to try other compatible (pluggable) cables as well, and eventually point to a definitive solution.
