I am looking for a Ryzen 7 desktop that supports a DisplayPort monitor at 2560x1440.  I would prefer one with a dedicated port.

• The HP Erica6 motherboard (used in the P01-xxxx series) has HDMI v1.4b/HDCP v2.2 and VGA (why ?) ports.  Is there an adapter from this level of HDMI to DisplayPort that will support his resolution ?

• The Erica6 does have a USB-C port and I know there are adapters, but will it drive my monitor to it's full capabilities ?

Sounds like your machine does not have a dedictaed video card. Motherboard has:Motherboard has

Back I/O ports

  • (1) RJ-45 Ethernet port
  • (1) HDMI 1.4b/HDCP 2.2 port
  • (1) VGA port
  • (3) Audio ports (Line-in/Line-out/Microphone)
  • (4) USB 2.0 Type-A ports
  • (1) Power input port

Front I/O ports

  • (1) Headphone/microphone port
  • (1) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port (5 Gbps data transfer)
  • (4) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (5 Gbps data transfer)
  • (1) HP 3-in-1 media card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC)

1. No, HDMI 1.4b to DP won't give more dots (resolution).

2. The USB-C port is hopeless.

You need a video card OR USB-A to DP with higher resolution option.

Regards.
