Hello,

I have an HP Slim Desktop 290-p0xxx (HP Slimline) and I want to upgrade from the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 to a dedicated gaming GPU.

My current specs:

  • Intel Core i3-8100 @ 3.60 GHz

  • 8 GB RAM

  • 1 TB HDD

  • Intel UHD Graphics 630 (integrated)

Since this is a slim desktop, I’m not sure which low-profile GPUs will be compatible with the motherboard, case size, and stock power supply.

Could someone suggest compatible GPU upgrade options for this system?

Thanks.

I Understand your concern about upgrading the GPU, please note you have to be cautious since HP Slimline desktops like the 290-p0xxx have limited space and power, so only certain low-profile, low-power GPUs will fit and run reliably. The most commonly compatible upgrades are the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 and GTX 1650 low-profile versions, but you’ll likely need to check your power supply capacity before installing.

If you’re unsure, an authorised HP service center can confirm compatibility and install safely .

To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.
