HP Pro 3130 Microtower

¡Buenas!

Hi, Ariel:

Below is the link to the HP Quickspecs for the HP Pro 3100 Microtower model series.

HP Pro 3100 Series Microtower Business PC

Page 3 has the list of supported Intel processors.

I think you meant to write  Intel Core i7-880, and not i5-880, correct?

Your PC does support the Intel Core i7-880 processor.

Note that you must install a graphics card if your PC doesn't have one now.

No 1st Gen Intel Core processors will work without a discrete graphics card installed.

The onboard Intel graphics is only supported with the dual core processors.

Exactly, sorry, it was a i7 880😅 Thank you!  Why anyone say that their PCs doesn´t accept this CPU?

You're very welcome.

It's hard to say when the specs indicate the processor is fully supported.

Maybe they didn't know the quad cores require a graphics card.

If you install a processor without a graphics card, the PC will boot up but there will be nothing on the monitor.

Here is a link to the popular userbenchmark website which has reports of many different model PC's..

I couldn't find one for the MT but the SFF shows that the i7-870/ i7-880 works fine.

UserBenchmark: HP Pro 3130 Small Form Factor PC Compatible Components

You will note that every model that has a quad core processor installed, also has a graphics card installed.

The graphics card doesn't have to be expensive or powerful but it must be installed.

You're very welcome, Ariel.

There is an i7-880 in one of the reports.

You have to scroll past the initial 9 reports and on the bottom right side it indicates that there are 22 more reports.

There is a PC listed in the second grouping of reports--12th one down on the list.
