Just received this OmniDesk M02-0085m and note there is a free SATA port and a 4 pin ATX mini power connector, one would think for adding a second SSD drive. There appears to be no documentation for this or what the specs are for the power connector. I see there are 4 pin to SATA power cables for various Lenovo PCs for sale. Would those work?

To clarify, if one wants to use the wifi function, that takes up the 2nd M.2 SSD slot. This is noted in the documentation. Assuming so, there is not a second SSD slot available.
I was able to get a knowledgeable human being at HP support after several tries. Near as he could tell, while the motherboard has a SATA data port and an ATX 4 pin power support, it is a generic motherboard and the HP configuration in this case doesn't support its use.
It is unfortunate that HP doesn't show either the rear view or the motherboard layout in their product info that would have helped educate a purchaser. The OmniDesk Desktop M02-0085m model is not expandable, save for one spare memory slot, a PCIe x1 and a PCIe x16 (presumably for graphics card). The single SSD card provided is covered up by the plastic shroud and is located under the CPU fan.
I'm included photos of the rear panel and inside motherboard of the M02-0085m for folks who may find it helpful.M02-0085a motherboard

@gak, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Adding a Second Drive to the HP OmniDesk M02-0085m!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When considering adding a second SSD drive to your HP OmniDesk M02-0085m, there are a few important factors to keep in mind:
SATA Port Availability: As you've noted, there is a free SATA port available, which can be used to connect an additional drive.
Power Connector: The presence of a 4-pin ATX mini power connector could imply a provision for powering a secondary drive. However, without specific documentation on the power specifications, caution should be exercised. The compatibility of power cables can vary across brands and model lines.
Cabinet Design and Layout: Ensure that there is physical space within the desktop tower to securely fit an additional drive by checking your PC's internal design.
Cable Compatibility: While Lenovo 4-pin to SATA power cables are available, it is crucial to note that cables are often brand-specific due to differences in pin layout and power delivery specifications. Using a non-compatible cable might damage your hardware. It is recommended to opt for a universal 4-pin to SATA adapter cable, or confirm with HP support to ensure compatibility.
Mounting Bracket: Depending on your desktop's design, you might need a drive mounting bracket to securely install the drive.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
