HP PRODESK 600 G3 SFF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a second SSD drive that I want to add to my PRODESK 600 G3 SFF. Looking a the motherboard it seems that is is only possible to add an optical disk-drive to the free SATA connector (light blue) - see attached photo. Can I use the free SATA connector to connect to my second SSD disk? If so, how do I get the necessary cables (Data+PSU)?

since you don't state what size bay you have available for the sec drive, i must assume you allready have that sorted out?

all you need is a SATA cable that will reach from the motherboard sata port to where the second SSD drive is located

if you don't have a free SATA power connector on the power supply (check carefully, you should have one) you cqan buy a SATA power splitter that splits the existing connector into two connectors, again these splitters are available in various lenghts

both items are available from amazon, newegg, ebay, bestbuy, local computer shop

Thanks for your reply.

I managed to get it to work by buying a HHD Caddy where I put the second SSD. The build in PSU cable for the DVD drive could then be used so I only had to buy a standard SATA 3.0 cable connection the HDD Caddy to the SATA socket on the motherboard.

Good day!
Tell me, can I use the built-in raid 1 (Intel vPro)?

I don't think the onboard intel chipset supports booting from a raid setup due to hardware limitations, however if you can install 2 or more hard drives internally, then raid 0/1 might be available to you as a boot device

you can however setup a software defined raid using the included intel raid options in the bios

Thanks!
As I understand with two drives I will succeed.

Yes, the disk will be 2, 1-M. 2 SSD, 2-SATA SSD
Support HP  says this is instruction for older models and not suitable for 600 g3 SFF

Quote: "Support HP  says this is instruction for older models and not suitable for 600 g3 SFF"

this statement is wrong, remove the "older models" and insert "Tower"

the Tower models can/do support several HD's and PCI-e cards

the "SFF"  (Small Form Factor) model has no PCI-E slots and is limited to two Hard Drives (one 2.5 SATA) and one M.2 drive

Means with two disks at me it will turn out from bios to activate raid and then create RAID volume without additional controllers?
