I recently bought a HP Desktop M01-F0134 with 256 GB SSD storage. I need more storage so I bought a Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVME M.2 SSD (2TB). My PC specs say that the expansion slots are 1 PCIe x1; 1 PCIe x16; 2 M.2. Am I reading this wrong? I can only find one M.2 slot, the one that has the original 256 inserted. I want to leave the original one there with my operating system. So, my question...
1. Does anyone know where the other slot is?
2. I did see a post where I can clone the operating system. Should I remove the 256 and replace it with the Samsung 2TB and clone the operating system?
3. Will my Samsung 980 PRO work with this computer?
I just want to upgrade to have more storage. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06915423
Its motherboard has
- One PCIe x16 socket (for discrete graphics card)
- One PCIe x1 socket
- One M.2 socket 1, key A
- Two M.2 socket 3, key M (one for SSD card PCIe x4) - one occupied by 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
As motioned above, the second one is for PCIe x3. You can use Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 but it will run at slower speed, not PCIe x4.
I would keep the existing alone and add the second one for storage. One day later I can replace the old one with a bigger Capacity) drive if I wish.
Regards.

Yes, in most cases if you have two m2 ssd slots, one can be hidden by the graphics card, only you don't have one according to the product page
HP Desktop M01-F0134 Product Specifications
Integrated
Intel® UHD Graphics 630
personally I have a doubt here, if not an error
In the documents, manual, not mentioned it seems to me
and in the product page, although it is specified for the motherboard, we just read
Expansion Slots 1 PCIe x1; 1 PCIe x16; 2 M.2see these other models

Thank you so much for making this very clear. I returned the Samsung until I have a plan moving forward. You mentioned I would keep the existing alone and add the second one for storage. That sounds smart to me. The second one... If I buy another M.2, I would need an adapter. Your suggestion?

Hi
@Birddog11 it may not have been clear, , personally, I advised you to check before
the information given here is not very clear, and as you do not seem to find the second M2 slot, I assume that there may be an error
