please donate the exact model of the pc
Maybe there will not be this information, so have you checked if possible to install a second hard drive?
According to the question, it is a second disk drive, because otherwise, you must use the original connectors!
there should be a power cable, if not, there it will be complicated
it may be necessary to give photos, from inside the pc!

It's an Envy 795-001 Desktop. I haven't been able to open the case yet. There is some type of lock mechanism on the cover. From what I've read there is plenty of space for additional drives but the only cables provided are for the original equipment. I want to insert a second and third 3.5" sata drive.

What you have in the HP 795 is a Berks motherboard. Do not attempt to make a power cable.
Front power switch can be damaged by improperly attempting to open the case. Here is hold to open the case.
1) You will need the correct cable to add a 2nd and 3rd drive. See here The cost is about $56 USD
2) 3.5" had drives require HP Blue Isolation screws. Read this in its entirety.

Thanks; I've already seen these recommendations. I can't remove the comp. cover as described in your link. I can push the latch to the open position but cannot lift the cover. There is no obvious screw to remove and I can't tell what id holding it closed. I've visited the "HP store" and saw the L22276-001 referenced but have not found a method to purchase one.
