How much memory can I install in my HP Envy 750-514, Right now There is 12 gig installed.

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your PC.

According to the report, you can install 2 x 16 GB of memory.

 

HP indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB of memory, but I believe the Crucial memory report makes more sense for the processor and chipset your PC comes with.

Of course that is your decision regarding which report you want to go with.

 

If you want to take the low risk gamble that the Crucial report is right, just buy one 16 GB chip and add it to the 8 GB chip in there now, and if the PC works and reports 24 GB, then you can add the second 16 GB chip.

 

You really want the memory running in dual channel mode, so I don't know why HP installed mismatched memory capacities in that model.

 

If you don't want to take the risk that the Crucial report is wrong, then you can remove the 4 GB chip and add an 8 GB chip and have the 16 GB of memory run in dual channel mode.
