HP Omen 880-050
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just recently bought an HP Omen 880-050 desk top at a local store, that comes with 16 GB of RAM (2 x 8 GB sticks installed, 4 slots available on motherboard, 2 occupied and 2 empty ).

I would like to add/ upgrade to 32 GB of RAM.  What is the best way to do that? i.e., keep the two 8 GB sticks and add 2 additional 8 GB sicks, or keep the two 8 GB sticks and add one 16GB stick, or toss the two 8 GB sicks and replace with either two 16GB sicks or one 32GB stick?  Does it matter?

And what specific brand of RAM should I buy (the RAM installed by HP is listed as DDR4-2400 SDRAM)?

Sorry for the newbie questions, I appreciate the help.

@CClark30

The following link shows its specs

   https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05506518

It supports up to 32GB and each slot supports up to 8GB.

To answer your question: You can add 2 more 8GB sticks to 2 empty slots.

Machine already has 2 sticks, please use a pen to record their specs and going out to buy SAME specs to be sure they are compatible.

Regards.
