Hello Hp,
I just purchased a Pavilion Desktop TP01-2141 and was hoping to a 1TB SATA HDD as a backup device. I didn’t realize the unit has such a small, 180W, power supply! Can I still add the device or do I need to an externa drive?
Thanks.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Even though a 180-watt power supply is indeed rather small, you can power your (internal) 1TB SATA HDD as a backup device without any issues. When the time comes you want to install a graphics card -or upgrade your graphics card, come back, and we'll provide some power supply upgrade options for you.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
