@mikef12345, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Certainly! To add a second internal SSD drive to your HP Omnidesk M03-0064, you will need to follow a few steps. Here’s a guide to help you through the process:
Steps to Add a Second Internal SSD Drive
Check Compatibility:
- Before purchasing an SSD, ensure that it is compatible with your HP Omnidesk M03-0064. You can refer to the HP specifications for your model to find out the supported SSD types (SATA, NVMe, etc.).
Check Available Slots
- The HP Omnidesk M03-0064 typically comes with:
- 1x M.2 NVMe SSD slot (usually occupied by the primary drive)
- 1x 2.5" SATA bay (available for a second SSD)
- If your M.2 slot is already in use, your best option is to install a 2.5" SATA SSD.
Choose the Right SSD
- For second drive: Use a 2.5" SATA SSD (e.g., Samsung 870 EVO, Crucial MX500).
- Ensure you have:
- A SATA data cable
- A SATA power connector from the power supply (usually available)
Install the SSD
- Power off the PC and unplug it.
- Open the side panel of the case.
- Locate the 2.5" drive bay or mounting bracket.
- Secure the SSD using screws or a bracket.
- Connect the SATA data cable to the motherboard and the SSD.
- Connect the SATA power cable from the PSU to the SSD.
- Close the case and power on the PC.
Initialize and Format the SSD
- Boot into Windows.
- Open Disk Management:
- Press Win + X → Select Disk Management
- Locate the new SSD (it will show as unallocated).
- Right-click → Initialize Disk → Choose GPT.
- Right-click unallocated space → New Simple Volume → Format it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
