I am looking to adding a 500GB SSD to my system, HP ENVY 750-624. I was wondering if I could migrate the essentials to the SSD and keep the 1TB HDD for storage? Would i need to switch drive spots after the migration? Also would I need to wipe HDD of the OS?

You clone the HD to the SSD using a program that can shrink down the HD to fit on the smaller SSD.

Then you put the SSD in the original HD position cables.
Yes, you must remove the original OS partition from the HD.
Depending on the age of the 1 TB HD, I would replace it with a new 1TB.
