I have a M01-F0033w and I wanted to add a gtx 970, but realized I need a proprietary HP power supply. Where do I buy this power supply?

@thisiszombo,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Yes, your HP M01-F0033w (6YR55AA) desktop with an Erica motherboard (SSID: 8643) is compatible with a 500 watt HP power supply: HP p/n: L05757-800 in order to replace your 180 watt power supply.

Reference: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model...

This power supply is on backorder via HP ($133.27 see: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=L05757-800), but can be bought for $114.45 here: https://www.sparepartworld.com/laptop-spare-parts/internal-power-supplies/internal-power-supplies-l0....

Hope this was helpful.

@thisiszombo,

And then there is an OEM HP 400 watt power supply, also compatible with your desktop, HP p/n: L04618-800 -also fitted with one PCIe 6+2 power connector, which can be bought for $129.99 here: Amazon.com: New Genuine PS for HP Pavilion Gaming 790-0020 GNRC PSU SFF Entl FR 400W Power Supply L0....

@thisiszombo,

Looking more carefully at the minimum power requirements for a GTX 970, I realize that a 500 watt PSU is generally stated as its minimum power supply.  Also, it appears that your GTX 970 requires to be powered by 2 x 6-pin PCIe power cables.

Therefore, the 500 watt L05757-800 IS the only power supply compatible with your Erica motherboard which fits the bill as it has one PCIe 6+2-pin and one PCIe 6-pin power supply cables.

Thank you. Much more expensive than I thought. Maybe I'll buy a new mobo and possibly ram after all.
