Hello, I'm looking to add a 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD to my Envy 750-514. Do I need to purchase any accessories such as SATA III cables, etc.... or can it plug right in? I believe it will need a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket. Is upgraded cooling and power supply needed?
Could it handle a Samsung 970 EVO?
Thanks

After you have removed the power cord for the chassis, and removed the side panel, you can inspect the interior. You should be able to find 3 SATA drives, the 2.5" 128GB boot drive, a 3.5" 1TB hard drive for data files (if you ever set it up), and of course leads to the SATA DVD drive.
This Samsung EVO 860 550GB 2.5" would be my choice. The Samsung EVO 970 will not work on your unit.
