Due to cost restraints, I could only order one stick of HyperX 8GB 2666  memory. I believe the memory is made by Kingston. The HP CL spec for the stick is 15. Kingston lists theirs at 16. Would different CL specs  present an operational problem?

This shouldn't be causing any issues. CL in RAMs stands for CAS latency

The lower the CAS, the faster the RAM—and consequently, the more expensive. When deciding between RAM of different clock speeds, the RAM with the higher clock speed is superior; but when choosing between RAM of identical clock speeds, the RAM with lower CAS latency is faster.

But that does not cause any operational problems
