After BIOS Update - NIC Vanished

Hi all,

Weird problem, all started because this user of mine needs Photoshop.  Been running fine for a year, suddenly flashed a message saying the video driver needed to be updated.  Ran Windows Update because it was still on 20H2.  Also installed a bunch of other updates.  Rebooted, no problem.  But Photoshop still not working.

Installed HP Support Assistant to check for machine-specific drivers.  First, it came up with a need to update the BIOS.  It was on 02.13.00 and wanted to go to 02.22.00.  So I went through that process, rebooted, and everything seemed successful.

BUT...  Upon coming back to Windows, the network card is gone.  Not there.  Not listed in device manager.

So I went to a totally different PC and downloaded BOTH RealTek NIC drivers:

Installing them yielded nothing.  Briefly got a command window, then it disappears.  No drivers installed, no device installed. HELP! How can I fix this? This particular user is quite important.  I am building him a replacement PC just in case this can't be fixed or will take too long.  But if y'all have any ideas, please help.  Can I roll back to previous BIOS? See if that helps.  I just don't know if I can or if that might totally brick the thing.

At this point, I just need to get the PC working, I'll deal with the original problem after getting it back to the land of the living.  Final word, as best I can tell, the PC is actually running fine, just the NIC is totally gone.  Otherwise, seems OK.

BTW, it's an EliteDesk 705 G4 SFF running Windows 10 22H2 64-bit.
