Omen 870-224
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the recent Omen recommended BIOS update, my HP mixed reality headset fails to load on "device descriptor failed"

I've installed the latest windows updates, the latest NVidia drivers.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the video drivers.

I've attempted to rollback the BIOS update, but it will not let me as it tells me the older BIOS version is incompatible with my system.

i've used the troubleshooter for hardware and it finds nothing.

i've disabled and reenabled the headset driver, uninstalled and attempted to reinstall.  no luck.

now, i find myself frustrated as the latest round of updates has killed my ability to entertain myself with an HP Omen desktop and an HP mixed reality headset.

does anyone have any idea how to resolve this?  the last time this happened it took a while for the next update to "fix" my system.

anyway, be warned, the latest Omen desktop BOIS update has issues.  as the BIOS update was the last update tried and the windows and nvidia updates where applied previously... and the headset functioned... i assume that the problem is the BIOS update.

signed,

"bored and stuck without my VR"

NOTE:  I rolled back the windows update and my HP headset now works.

sigh.  Microsoft got me again.  Sorry HP.  You've been good for me.
