Hello, My son has an All in One 24-f0066 that has an Intel I3-8130u processor. He wanted to know if upgrading to an I5-8250U 4 core processor would make a noticeable difference in gaming or overall speed with schoolwork/e-learning programs/zoom, etc... My question is, on the HP website , it says it is upgradeable to that I5-825OU processor, but the socket type says BGA 1356. After researching, this BGA 1356 is a soldered in. So is it upgradeable, but not to an avg. diy guy like myself? Is this upgradeable by computer techs only and would it be worth the cost ? Also where would I be able to find an I5-8250U processor with a socket type BGA 1356?
This is one of those situations where you have to order computer with the processor that you want installed. I am not certain that it would be a good idea to even try to have it upgraded by a Tech. The truth is, he would most likely not see enough benefit from the upgrade to make it worthwhile. The AIO computers are simply not meant for gaming.
