HP22-c1006 21.5" all in one

Bought this all in one when lockdown started but it can't cope with prolonged use of Teams & Chrome. As my work is almost entirely Teams-based now, this is a major problem! The issue seems to be lack of RAM so I'm hoping to upgrade that. Currys would need to send it away to upgrade but I can't do without it for work so seems like I just need to void the warranty - basically write off the £560 I paid for it - and fit it myself.

Can anyone point me to what I need to buy, please? I can't find the model on the HP site and Currys' phone line isn't working for parts...

Thanks for any help.

@SoniaC,

Here is your unit.    Here is the motherboard

Before I link the solutions to your inquiry, let me explain.   There are 2 RAM slots on the board. One is occupied with an existing 4GB RAM. You have 2 options,

(1) find an exact 4 GB RAM, it is  RAM SODIMM 4GB PC4-19200, DDR4 - 2400Mhz 1.2V, non-ECC Unbuffered CL17

part # 863483-800 USA price    UK price

(2) replace and add new RAM, up to the max of two 8GB RAM per slot.

Caution: the video shows how to open the unit.  Do not stress the ribbon cable from the screen to the motherboard.  Watch the video and stop it at 5:11 minutes. That is enough to see what needs to be done.

    Dual channel memory architecture

    Two DDR4 SODIMM (260-pin) sockets

    Supports up to PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)

    Supports 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB SODIMMs

    Supports 16 GB (unbuffered) with two 8 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems

    note: Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

As long as you do no damage, the warranty is intact.  Any locale repair shop can do the work, if you desire.
