HP Envy 700-130
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi,

i this PC came with a Core i5 4430 processor. i have decided take the processsor out of this pc and put it in another PC. but i would still like to have this pc functional. the product page for the HP Envy 700-130 states that only Core i5 and Core i7 processors are supported. but what about downgrades. does this mother board, (Memphis-B), support a lower end processor like the Core i3 or even the Pentium series?

i would like to put a cheaper cpu in this pc and was wondering if the haswell Core i3's are supported on this motherboard.

thank you.

hi, since the Memphis-B is an Intel H87 board, then a Core i3 4th gen should be compatible, right?
