@Thane1-_ , welcome to the Community.
Here is the "Illustrated Parts and Service Map" for your workstation. If you look at the section titled "Other boards/Intel core i7 processors" it only lists the i7-4770 as compatible with the motherboard. This tells me from experience that the BIOS/UEFI will not be capable of overclocking a "K" processor.

And yet, dear Old_Geekster, even though the i7-4790K is indeed not overclockable on an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF, this processor IS compatible with this desktop, has an identical TDP (84 watt), and beats the Intel i7 competition -so to speak, by a considerable margin.
As usual, UserBenchMark [dot] com happens to provide useful and interesting real-world user experiences: this desktop CAN handle the i7-4790K. This is a true CPU-monster: even without overclocking it is zipping along at 4.00GHz with a max turbo speed of 4.40GHz, with 4 cores and 8 threads. Would be my choice if I had an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF -but I digress.
The question that is much more relevant in this discussion, in my opinion, is this: are you willing to spend about $130 or less (as per eBay pricing a minute ago) on an i7-4790K, or pick a cheaper alternative?
