Hi,

I am experiencing an issue with my hp laptop. My laptop is shutting down automatically in few minutes after I start it. Then I again started the system after some time the same thing happened. I checked the percentage of power and most of the time the battery will have more than 60% charge. And when I started my laptop after the automatic shut down I got a message and I am attaching here the image of that message. According to that message actually at that time I didn't plugged any external device to my lap. Please respond as soon as possible.

Thank you

Hi @Amg_

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Does the laptop turn off suddenly with its lights off as well? or do the lights remain on and only the screen blacks out?
  • Also, do you know if any updates were recently installed or interrupted during an update?

Meanwhile, let us try these steps:

If Windows suddenly shuts down, it might be caused by one of several issues.
A BIOS update can also resolve the issue: click here for steps.

Follow the steps in this section, in order, to run a hardware test to identify any issues with the device:

Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@Amg_

Thank you for the response. I assumed that the PC auto-restarts. Hence the steps. My bad, I seem to have missed out on a few essentials while reading your post, however, I have corrected the same now, please go through it again and keep me posted with the results.

Keep me posted.
