Hi all,

Can you help me with the following problem. I replaced the motherboard on the device HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF. Now I need to enter device data Serial no, SKU, BuildID, FeatureByte, model name.
I've been trying to collect a text file dump through the BIOS Configuration Utility but I get the following error when I type the command:

biosconfigutility.exe /getconfig:new.txt <ERROR msg="System not supported. Unable to connect to HP WMI namespace:'root\HP'" /> <ERROR msg="BCU return value" real="16" translated="16" />

OS Win 10 64-bit is installed on the device.

Thanks in advance

@Bokis,

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!

Perhaps you need to edit the BIOSConfigUtility.exe commands a little.

Please take a look at page 7 and 8 of this user guide: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/whitepapers/BIOS_Configuration_Utility_User_Guide.pdf

("Run the following command: BIOSConfigUtility.exe /get:config To create a copy of config.txt", etc.).

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Hello,

thank you for your help.
I do everything correctly, read the txt file, change the parameters I need, save the file and write that file again using the setconfig command and report that everything is fine, that I need to restart the computer, and after that none of the parameters I entered are remembered. I have tried several times to read, change the parameters and restore the file, but nothing happens, everything is the same as before the change. I tried it on several different OSes, turned off the computer, changed the hard drives and the same thing still happens, the bios won't remember the change of parameters. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

@Bokis,

Honestly, I don't know what the issue is.  In a worst-case scenario, it could mean that you may have to replace your motherboard.  Perhaps someone else in our peer-to-peer Community has any additional ideas how to proceed.

Kind Regards,
