I work with machines that use HP Computers as the control. We need the PC configured for Legacy Boot, and have a BIOS configuration file with all of the proper settings. These PCs are all circa 2012 - 2019, HP 800 G1s to G6 and some HP Engage Flex Pro C. Nearly all in this range have the same BIOS interface. The problem I have is when a CMOS battery dies or the BIOS resets for some other reason, the PC will not boot. Usually we can upload the configuration file and all is well. Lately I have notice that even though the BIOS reports successful upload of the config file, some settings don't seem to be actually changing, specifically "Legacy Support Enable and Secure Boot Disable," Option ROM Launch Policy being "All UEFI" and is grayed out, unable to be changed. (needs to be all Legacy).

I have done some testing here on a few different PCs, and have been going back and forth with Claude to let it scour the internet, but have come up empty handed. Does anyone know if some of these settings have dependencies, or where even I can look at logs to see what is going wrong?
