I just found out the new bios is due to be released 5/22
It had been removed because of a problem with bitlocker that was unforeseen.
Well, that date already passed and it actually was "tentative"
I will post when it finally comes out, sorry!

I do not know what PC this is. What is the exact model or product ID.
Also, it may be possible to find the bios using the ROM ID. Go into your existing bios and look for something like that name. It should be a 4 character code, for example "874F". It could also be seen in the msinfo application as "BaseBoard Product"
sometimes when a BIOS is withdrawn, there is a real reason for it to disappear. For example.
Note that if you have a gaming PC the bios updates that are only "for security" will slow down your pc.

Sorry didn't notice it doesn't show which Tower I have , it's Prodesk 400 G7 the Micro Tower, the issue is that the official link i pasted is not applicable like someone accidently removed it from HP main server.

Thank you.
I alerted the headshead about the missing SP170170 bios upgrade. I noticed that other models had the 2.25 but not the 400 or the 480
When (if) the bios is downloadable I recommend waiting a week or two to see if anyone reports a problem with the bios.
Were you able to find the ROM ID or baseboard code?

In the update page:
HP ProDesk 400 G7 Microtower PC | BIOS | 02.25.00 | Rev 2 | SP170170 | |
HP ProDesk 400 G7 Small Form Factor PC | BIOS | 02.25.00 | Rev 2 | SP170244 |
I confirm at the moment both links are missing.
ROM ID or baseboard code , i must admit i don't remember how i find them , tell me how to find and why we need them.
Thank you in advance.

Go here and click on "Diagnose other potential issues"
scroll down to "4- in-1 USB KEY"
The blue download button will download all year 2025 and 2026 (maybe) bios's
Years before 2025 are in the "Additional Softpaqs"
All there is just the exact ROM BIOS. suitable for flashing using a CH341a programming tool.
they are organised by the rom id. I download periodically and on occasion look for a bios that is old and withdrawn from the main web site. The downloads are suitable for tech shops but it is possible to insert the rom into an install procedure where you do not need the programming tool.
