I’m using HP Z210 CMT and I would like to update BIOS for upgrading RAMs capacity to 16GB for each module. Which is the newest version for this pc in Windows 10? I have updated to the one which released in June 2018 (J51 01.55) but it seemed that the 16GB RAM-memory isn’t working.

Hi @PLPR
That does not exist for this model, the processors that it has support a maximum of 32 GB then to have 4 slots each one must support the maximum 8 GB.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your CPU determines what type of memory is supported on the HP Z210.
Please read over this HP RAM config document carefully:
Link: z210_memory_mini_wp.pdf.
Your HP Workstation Z210 can be fitted with up to 32GB ECC OR 16GB non-ECC, DDR3 1333 MHz RAM.
However, Users (such as: @tolan666) have observed the following (thinking outside the box!), and I quote:
"I got 32 gigs non-ECC ram at 1600mhz running now without problems, which isn't supported according to the manual, but it works like a charm.
Because I got a second HP Z210 with ECC ram I also tested the ECC with the I/ and this also works. So this information in the manual is also wrong."

Unfortunately, I don't think an HP Z210 CMT can accept 16GB RAM sticks.
Kind Regards,

for example the most powerful processor that can have this PC is the following and according to Intel the manufacturer does not support more than 32 GB
Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1290

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion.
My CPU is Xeon so the RAM should be:
- ECC
- 1333MHz
- UDIMM
- 1.5V
According to Chat GPT, HP Z210 CMT Workstation can accept 16GB per module if I update to the newest version of BIOS but it might not be the right answer…

Hi @PLPR
As I indicated above the CPU does not support more than 32 GB, and if you have 4 slots to reach 32 GB must popular all the slots for this reason only supports 8 GB memories.

Hi! Thanks for your reply.
I put only one 16GB, ECC, 1333MHz in the first slot and it doesn’t work so which means that the maximum GB for one slot should be under than that if I understand right?
I asked Chat GPT before the purchase but apparently I got the wrong answer about the max GB per slot.

Exactly, then it should be 8 GB (4x8 = 32 GB).
Chat GPT I do not believe is a currently reliable option.

It is clear that more memory is better, but you can put 16 or 32 GB depending on the programs you use the most. now depending on the memory modules you have, you can add memory of the same size.
