HP doesn't support my desktop anymore, even though I bought the thing less than a year ago. I need to update my BIOS, but I don't know how to circumvent HP not carrying it.
I'm upgrading to a i5-10400f, which is in line with the motherboard specifications and allowed upgrades, but when I swapped the CPUs, the BIOS beeps told me to update the BIOS.
My current OS version is 2h1h ( I believe that's the correct version), either way it's not either of the two options listed for my computer.
I work nightshift, so I can't call them until the weekend, and I'd like to get this done as soon as possible so I can continue on with things.
HP assistant won't let me check the software and drivers page at all, even though every other tab lets me. I have a notification that there's a new BIOS update, but I can't do anything with the information (Rom Family SSID 8768).
Any help? Any way to update the BIOS? Or am I out 600 dollars?

I found two different BIOS files for that model. The reason you did not see them is because they are listed under an older Windows version:
Here they are - for different CPU family's -
and/or
Now to the CPU - the Intel Core i5-10400F is listed as a supported CPU for that motherboard. If the BIOS is beeping, try reinstalling the original CPU to see if things go back to normal. It could be there is another reason for the BIOS beeps.
The spec page for that PC has a Intel® Celeron® G5900 listed as the installed CPU. Is that what you are trying to upgrade from?
I'm not an HP employee.

Verify you have one of the two BIOS listed above.by TheOldMan and upgrade the bios if yours is older.
You may need to reset the CMOS. I looked at pictures of your motherboard and did not see any juimpers or buttons to make reset easy. There is a video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ4f0oSeAxw on how to remove the battery on your motherboard. It is very easy to break the clip that hold the battery so do NOT force the chip out.
I discovered that Intel sells the same systems
Possibly the motherboard is an intel design that HP uses. That can complicate BIOS updates as HP would ask Intel for an upgrade and Intel would ask how much they want to pay for it.

The Celeron is the original CPU I'm upgrading from. Plugged it all back how it used to be beforehand, and works just fine.
The beep code was three long beeps, 1 second of silence, and then 3 short beeps. Looked it up, and thought it was an issue with the BIOS, so I figured that's what I need to update. Never done any of this before, so I'm wondering what the next steps would be in order to upgrade the CPU.
I also have new DDR4 RAM on the way that is in line with the motherboard specs as well.

Download and run CPU-z and select :"main board" to get the bios
HWinfo64 is another tool but it gives out more stuff than you probably want to read.
