Welcome to the HP Support Community!
How did you know that your PC is affected by this issue?
Have you gone through any HP Article? If so, could you please share the screenshot of the issue.
With the discovery of the CPU design flaw that makes possible speculative execution based exploits (referred to as side channel analysis or speculative execution and nicknamed "Spectre" and "Meltdown"), OS vendors have been pushing out software patches that protect against these exploits.
To verify or confirm the same on your own please refer to the below article.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Simple answer. The original WIN 8.1 OS is tied to the BIOS version. You installed WIN 10.
That means you can not attempt to install another BIOS.
If it to start updating it might DESTROY the existing BIOS.
