The present BIOS on my PC is from year 2015. Update 2018 is available on HP website for my PC which is running Windows 10 64 bit version. However, the BIOS is not getting updated using the Download and Install Assist feature of HP. Can someone help me with updating the BIOS with the 2018 edition.

hi
it does not work, my advice is not to insist
For information, you normally have the motherboard
- HP/Compaq name: Memphis2-S
- SSID: 2B2C
latest version available
HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) | A0.17 Rev.A | 14.7 MB | May 14, 2018 |
you just have to follow the instructions, download the file manually, at the request ( For the best results we recommend you use our download and install assistant. )refuse clique No thanks, I will download and install manually
1. Click the Download Only button.
2. At the File Download screen, click the Save button.
3. At the Save As screen, save the file to your Desktop.
4. If a message appears stating that the file already exists, click YES to overwrite file.
5. Double-click the icon to download the update to your desktop, and then click NEXT.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
7. If prompted to restart the system upon completion of the update, click YES and allow system to restart.
Sometimes installing a previous version can work, you have the list
HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) | A0.16 Rev.A | 14.7 MB | Feb 4, 2018 |
HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) | A0.15 Rev.A | 14.7 MB | Dec 28, 2017 |
HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) | A0.14 Rev.A | 14.8 MB | Nov 21, 2017 |
etc
check your version (A0.xx )
I insist, if nothing in particular, computer, works well, that the update, is not there to correct a problem that you have, avoid!

Hi,
Firstly let me thank you for responding to my post.
I have downloaded the latest BIOS update A0.17 Rev.A ,14.7 MB, May 14, 2018 (FIle name: sp87681.exe) to my computer. But the file is not installing and nothing happens after i follow the on-screen instructions for two or three steps. The installation window vanishes.
I also tried the earlier versions as suggested by you one by one. I could successfully install only one version: 80.06 Rev.A (Sept 30, 2015) (File: sp73061.exe)
All other versions including the latest one are not getting installed.
Please guide me further. Thanks once again.

hi
Well that's not really what I was saying, test everything
the computer might not have restarted at all..
Then a doubt, because the pilot page that I had consulted was under windows 10 ..
and therefore the one you finally installed is available under windows 8 (what I can see at home)!
HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) | 80.06 Rev.A | 11.1 MB | Sep 30, 2015 |
Operating systems:
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
So there under the bios, it's the latter?
unless you try by forcing it via a usb key, if possible, frankly I don't see any other possibilities here!
My only advice is not to insist, you risk a blockage, complete, we can't really know the cause of the blockage of these versions, especially if you have tried again after 80.06 to install A0.11 again..
Also, I don't see any major improvement.
Again, why do you want to do this?

I am not able to install any one of the above except the only one
80.06 Rev.A | Sept 30, 2015 | 11.1 MB |
which i was able to install,
Now the purpose the doing the BIOS update:
I have purchased and successfully installed a bigger casing for my aforementioned HP PC to accommodate my new graphics card. The front panel of the casing has two USB 2.0 ports and both are working.
The front panel also has a USB 3.0 port which is not working. I have connected the SS-USB male socket (blue in color) available on the motherboard with the USB 3.0 port of the front panel through the connecting cable provided along with the casing by the casing supplier. The connecting cable matches perfectly with the SS-USB (blue color) male socket of the motherboard. But the USB 3.0 of the front panel is not working.
I guess that updating the BIOS may solve the issue. That is why I am trying to update the BIOS.
