Hello, I have the HP pavilion 590-p0054 with the Lincs 843B motherboard. I just recently bought the i5 9400F as an upgrade to replace the i3 8100 and was wondering, from this web page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-pavilion-desktop-pc-595-p0000i/model/24153297 , which drivers do i download for the motherboard in order for it to recognize the new CPU?

Welcome to our HP community forum!

 

Your HP Pavilion 590-p0054 Desktop PC as fitted with a Lincs motherboard (SSID: 843B), should be able to recognize 9th gen processors such as your i5-9400F, regardless whether you have the most recent BIOS version or not.


Please note that your "F" processor doesn't have integrated graphics and therefore requires a graphics card to provide video output to your monitor.
