Hello,
Yesterday I spent almost an hour with the maker of my printer, Kodak. I found out that the USB port which held the printer cable was not working.
Now in order to perform my work, I must remove the printer cable, and insert the one for the keyboard. When I need the printer, I have to take out the one for either the keyboard or the mouse and then do what I can.
How do I contact an authorized HP service person in my area, which is northeast WI?
What other steps can I take? Can a computer repair company help me?
Thanks Much!

Your computer: HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1114 Desktop PC Product Specifications
has two USB ports on the front.
It also has Back I/O ports:
1.USB 2.0: four
2.LAN
3.DVI-D
4.D-SUB port (VGA port)
5.Audio: Line in
6.Audio: Line out
7.Audio: Microphone
So, with your keyboard & mouse & printer, you are using only 3 out ot the 6 ports.
How many ports are not functioning?
What other USB devices do you have? (External disk-drive? Web-cam? Digital camera? USB memory-stick?)
If you need more USB ports, see: Insignia™ - 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub for $15 US.
Connect your (low-speed) keyboard & mouse to this hub, this hub to one of your still-working USB ports, and connect the (high-speed) printer to the second of your still-working USB ports.
This will be much less expensive than repairing/replacing the motherboard.
