HP Notebook - 15-db0187au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop battery didn't get charged above 93% yesterday. (It was stuck on 93% for more than two hours while it was plugged). And then, I unplugged it, ran the battery down to 80%, plugged it back in, and then it didn't get charged more than 89%. So, I unplugged it again, ran the battery down to 0%, and let the pc shut down by itself. Even after that, nothing has changed the battery is only getting charged up to 89%.

I would be really grateful to you guys if you give me a solution for this issue.

Thank You

The following is my opinion, worth about 0.02c

That could be normal behavior.   I base this on my experience with the BIOS update for my surface pro 4.  An option was added and enabled in the bios to prevent charging about %50 due to the battery overheating and Micro$oft not wanting to replace battery under warrantee.

%89 is not all that bad.

Possibly you need to do a battery calibration.  It may be that %89 is actually 100 and after battery calibration it will show 100 instead of 89

I also recommend you run a battery report and post the summery

you run the battery report by bringing up the administrator command windows "cmd" and running powercfg/batteryreport as shown below

After entering that explorer line you should see something like the following. You will have to click on it as it is long

You can use the WindowsKey + shift + S to copy and paste a small image.

Hey, Thank You very much for the given instructions. I did all of them but the problem has not been solved.

I checked the battery condition using HP hardware diagnostic and it showed passed and there is no issue with the battery as follows.

Screenshot (442).pngAnd I did the manual battery calibration and BIOS update too. This is the battery report.

But, The battery remains draining. Today, It has dropped to 82% level. I think I have to replace the battery.

Sorry, I cannot access that file as it is on your computer.  Your battery may be discharging too quickly because the laptop is running in turbo speed all the time.

Try setting min to 5.0, 5.0 and max to %80, %100 in power plan respectively as below
