Product: HP Compaq dc7600S
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to make the best of my PC, a HP Compaq dc7600S model.

Please help me find the best suitable processor for my old PC.

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the dc7600 quickspecs.  The supported processors are listed by form factor.

 

HP Compaq dc7600 Business PC - Worldwide QuickSpecs (nts.nl)

 

The best processor you can install is the Pentium D 945 or 950.

 

The only difference between the 945 and 950, is the 950 supports Virtualization Technology.

I'm afraid 130 W, TDP is to high for D950.

Compared to 84 W of the Pentium 4 630 that is on the Sistem.

What do you say about it?

You're very welcome.

 

I agree, since there isn't a better heatsink you can use.

 

However the PD 945 has a TDP of 95W, which is only 11W more than the P4 630.
