I am trying to recover my BIOS for my 19-2304 after accidentially updateing by bios to A 0.3 on WIndows 10 instead of Windows 8. I am able to get Bios with the screen on holding down WIn + B bey in seconds during some power-ups or 8 beeps. After loading, I get message" BIOS image file did not pass activation. I tried using usb with A 0.03 and no luck. It keeps repeating with 8 beeps and screen coming on with BIOS recovery failed.

Hi @Dessenboro,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
As I understand the computer doesn't boot back into the Windows after the Bios recovery failed. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,
First off, Hats off to you for a job well done as you have tried the basic troubleshooting steps and checked settings on the unit, before posting the query in the HP forums. It is amazing to see how technically competent you are. It is always a privilege to work with tech-savvy customers like you
Let's try to follow these steps here:
Start with a hard reset to release any excessive static on the PC:
* If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.
* If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.
* With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
* With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
* Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Hi @Dessenboro,
I reviewed the post comprehensively. As @Jeet_singh is out of office for the day, I am jumping in to assist you. Stupendous resolve, Brilliant troubleshooting and tremendous patience to get the issue resolved. Kudos to you for a job superbly done. 🙂
Please visit this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-19-All-in-One-Desktop-PC-series/7477757/model/753... then select the correct operating system and try to download the bios to a USB flash drive. Please select the same version of the bios that came with the computer first. This needs to be done on a different computer.
Later please follow the steps on how to update the bios using the USB flash drive from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833 and follow the steps mentioned in the option “Recovering the notebook BIOS using an external storage device” Although the steps are for a notebook, it should work for the desktop as well.
Please make sure to use a wired keyboard and mouse during this rollback. Please ensure that you have used a wired keyboard also the first time you tried to recover the bios.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂 Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.
If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂

It looks like you were interacting with @DavidSMP & @Jeet_singh, but he's out for the day
And I'll be glad to help you out.
I reviewed your previous posts and I need to let you know that the BIOS recovery steps suggested by the last tech were supposed to take your computer back to the previously known and working BIOS version,
Although, since it isn't working out as it should have, your motherboard may require either a repair or a replacement as it could have been bricked.
I recommend you Contact HP to set up a repair/service order:
Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number to obtain a case along with the phone number.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts,
Mark my post as Accepted Solution.
And click on the Purple Thumbs up icon at the bottom of my comment.

Hello,
I have read over many of the forums and experiencing some issues. I will provide the sequence of failure then describe steps taken. Looking for some feedback prior to replacing the mainboard.
First symptom - OS not found or no HDD on unscheduled reboot (update)
This would recover after several reboot attempts into Windows recovery. Drive repair had no issues. Windows opened again.
Second - Loaded into Windows but User settings missing. Reboot no OS no HDD on black screen. Windows Start up boot repair unsuccesful. Win key +b or +v bios restore got me back in after being locked out. Failed to load after restore no hdd no OS.
Now nothing. USB unresponsive. Blank screen. DVD and HDD power up. No HDD led. Power good.
Help!!! To nice of a PC to lose it. Is this a failed main board due to the bios corrupting?
