Bios update H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX Motherboard

Hi, I´ve got a bit of a problem, I think, and I hope I´ve posted in the right forum.

I´ve got a HP Pavilion p6-2055sc with a motherboard H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX. There is an i3 quadcore processor in the computer and I would want to upgrade it to i5. My first question I guess is if this is at all doable?

I´ve checked the kind of processor I would need because of socket (the 1155) and TDP. The one I am considering is the i5-3570K (unlocked). Is there something else I need to consider given this is at all doable?

The way I understand things, I first need to update the bios otherwise the computer will not "recognize" the new processor and the switch to a new one will do no good. Is this correct and if I have to update the bios, will the latest one from 2012 do the job  (the latest one I could find on the HP support site) or should I simply give it up?

Hoping for assistance in this, any guidande would be greatly appreciated!

I´ve found the latest bios and upgraded.

So, I guess the choice of i5-3570 is not a good one? As I understand it it is not a sandy bridge processor?

Cheers again, you have been very helpful! Either find one of those sandy bridge processors, or buy me a new motherboard, or when I´m at it, maybe a completely new computer 🙂

The H61-series motherboards are still sold, but are showing their 3+ years age.
The Josuha H61 board by Foxconn for HP supports the 3rd generation processors.

I prefer motherboard upgrades, still using the HP a000 (Panther) and HP a1000 (Mojave) computer cases

As it were, I managed to find an i5-2500k processor at a good price, should work just fine right?

Look under the product number for your particular PC.  Version 7.16 appears to be the latest BIOS version.

You can use 7-ZIP to extract the internal files.  Inside you should find the "ROM" file.
